Why every game on Batata is made in-house
Every game on Batata is built by us. There is no upload button, no creator marketplace, no revenue-share program. In an industry that celebrates open platforms, that looks backwards. It is the most important decision we made.
What open platforms actually fill with
An open game platform does not fill with games. It fills with the economics of attention: ad-stuffed clones, asset flips, and titles designed to interrupt you rather than entertain you. The good games exist, but the player pays a search cost to find them, and in a feed the search cost IS the product.
The bar every Batata answers to
A stranger must understand the game in five seconds with no instructions. A run must fit inside a minute. It must play with one thumb, in portrait, and be complete with the sound off. No ads, no purchases, no video-for-extra-life. If a game misses the bar, it does not ship. If it degrades later, we pull it.
The catalogue grows slower this way. It also means that when you swipe to the next card, the next card is worth your swipe. That trade is the whole company.
